Infrastructure is back on the agenda in a big way in the US. There are two good reasons why. The NHS needs more money to solve performance problems… or does it?

This week, the Kings Fund (the respected independent-ish analyst of all things NHS) reported that the NHS should be given £2bn more in funding next year. It draws this conclusion because the NHS’ financial deficit is growing whilst performance is deteriorating. You can see the story here. I can’t argue – I’m sure the Kings Fund knows its NHS numbers. But as with all press reports, it’s easy to get wrapped up in assumptions.
